According to CSPI, breast cancer can be reached to lungs due to the use of this herb. Most of the women experience liver toxicity when they use home remedies that contain black cohosh. When CSPI had written a letter to Mark McClellan, who was FDA commissioner, CSPI mentioned that the possible dangers of the black cohosh should be noticed to the physicians by FDA. It also advised them to present any facts on cancer metastasis or liver toxicity from the patients who were taking the black cohosh. According to M.Cohen, who was the M.D. of Rush Medical Center in Chicago, the women who are taking the black cohosh, they need to be checked for confirmation of the liver problems.
