Cinnamon for Cholesterol |
Studies have proved that people who are suffering from cholesterol related problems can reduce their level of cholesterol by regular intake of cinnamon. Sugar levels in people of type 2 diabetes can take cinnamon for reducing their sugar levels. Regular intake of this type of spice helps in incr4easing blood circulation of a person thereby reducing his chances to develop diseases related to heart. It also reduces the amount of triglycerides and LDL also known as bad cholesterol from the body of a person. There is an active ingredient in the cinnamon which is known as proanthrocyanide is responsible for functioning of the insulin receptors inside the cells and hence uses up the glucose from the cells and reduces the level of cholesterol from the body. Care must be taken that you consume cinnamon in a limited proportion as higher intake of it can cause problems like upset stomach, fast heart beat and too much of perspiration. Intake of cinnamon does not cause any type of drug interactions. It is advisable to consume 1-6 grams of cinnamon since excessive intake of cinnamon can be toxic to humans. Cinnamon is a type of antioxidant which is responsible for protection of arterial wall cells and thereby results in healthy heart. |
