Vitamin B3 is one of eight B vitamins and is in addition to better-known as niacin, which is condensed from nicotinic acid. B vitamins function in the physical structure by converting food carbohydrates, which then becomes glucose that is utilized by the body as fuel producing energy.

Niacin in addition to assists the body to create stress relevant hormones and sex hormones in the adrenal glands, accompanied with different regions of the physical structure. This is as well a water soluble vitamin that although not stored in the body is required to help with improving circulation and reducing cholesterol levels in the blood. There is also evidence that this vitamin is able to help reduce LDL cholesterol, while at the same time raising HDL cholesterol, which prevents hardening of the arteries. Among the additional functions of B3 is to promote the appetite and digestive system function, and this vitamin helps nerve function, along with healthy skin.
